New Release! Finn (Single Dads of Gaynor Beach) by Jessie G

The second Single Dads of Gaynor Beach book is available! Fall in love with Finn & Nash!

Nash’s wanderlust sent him running once, but when he finds what he’s been searching for in Finn, can he convince the single dad he’s home for good?

At eighteen, Nash Galasso couldn’t get out of Gaynor Beach fast enough. The seaside town was too confining, too nosy, and came with too many expectations. Quick visits kept his sandy roots alive, but no matter how many times his brother asked, Nash refused to be guilted into moving back. Not until a boating accident left his niece and nephew orphaned, and he was the only family left to raise them.

Finn Brody loved everything about living in a small town. The quaint community was close-knit and accepting, and when he got the chance to go to a prestigious university, he happily turned them down for community college and fatherhood. All he wanted was to give his son Sawyer the same childhood he enjoyed, and though Finn never expected to raise his son alone, he could only do that in Gaynor Beach.

In high school, they were acquaintances passing in the hall. When they meet again, Finn is the man to help Nash settle the estate. Their easy friendship is a bonus they both welcome, but it’s their growing attraction that makes Nash realize that everything he’s been searching for is waiting in the place he left.

New Release–Jake (Single Dads of Gaynor Beach)

It’s finally here! Jake is out–in every sense of the word–and early readers are loving it!

A man isn’t defined by the worst moments in his past, but they can be hard as hell to leave behind.

Fresh starts are overrated. I’ve lived in Gaynor Beach my whole life, and I’m damn proud of it. I miss my wife like hell, and a grumpy mechanic may not make the best single dad, but the kids and I are doing okay right here. They’re not complaining—maybe because they’re never home. Teenagers.

Then a fresh start falls into my lap when the hottest man I’ve ever seen has his car quit on him. And if I can’t forget the feel of his arms around me when he rode on the back of my bike…well, nobody needs to know that except me.

But now Micah’s introducing me to worlds I’ve never been a part of before, or even imagined I could be. Worlds with ropes and explosive chemistry and adventures much bigger than our rides in the Southern California sunshine. Being with him feels like the biggest risk I’ve ever taken—and not everyone in town wants us to take this chance together.

I hope we can hang on when the ride gets bumpy.

JAKE is an angsty opposites-attract Romance in the Single Dads of Gaynor Beach world with a grumpy mechanic, a sunshiny high school teacher with a secret, size difference and a few first times, and three teenagers who are more perceptive than their parents bargained for.

The cover for JAKE: SINGLE DADS OF GAYNOR BEACH!

You might have already seen my new cover, because it’s been live on all the retailer sites for a few days now. I had a post all ready to go on cover reveal day…but somehow didn’t schedule it to publish! Sorry about that–I’ve been running as fast as I can to get everything ready for JAKE’s release, and that means trying to multi-task at 5:30 a.m. before logging on for the day job. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m not good at multi-tasking while it’s still dark outside and before I’ve finished at least one cup of coffee. *lol*

Better late than never, right?

JAKE will release on March 29th, and launch a new shared-world, multi-author series featuring single dads! Gaynor Beach is a fictional small town on a Southern California beach, and for real I want to go live there!

Family can break you, and family can make you whole. In my book Nesting Habits, Phil learns that a rough past doesn’t have to define your future. If you love reading about broken men who find love and peace with their family of the heart, you’ll be glad you grabbed Nesting Habits.

While you’re there, check out the other books—your TBR list might not thank you, but your heart will.

Nesting Habits

Phil Brask spends his days in the basement of his mentor’s Victorian home, converting legal documents into electronic format. When the pipe feeding the water heater bursts, Lee Redding arrives in the plumber’s truck and draws Phil away from the narrow focus of his computer and camera lens.

Lee gives Phil hope for a life beyond the walls he’s constructed using the nesting habits of migratory birds and dense legal files, a guided tour through a world filled with romance and music…maybe even family. But there’s a reason Phil retreated behind those walls, why he panics at a simple touch.

Lee has a good life—working with his uncle and on his mother’s farm, playing bass in a horrible metal band, and hooking up when he pleases—but he’s always suspected something was missing. When he meets the hot photographer with the icy-blue eyes, he knows exactly what that something is.

Phil isn’t like other guys, but neither is Lee beneath his carefree exterior. Maybe Lee’s the perfect guy to show Phil that everything doesn’t have to be done the hard way and “home” isn’t a four-letter word.

Here’s a teaser, from the first sex-in-the-park scene (there are two, btw 😉).

Phil took a slow deep breath, and Lee silently begged him not to stop. He didn’t much care what Phil had in mind, only that he keep going with it. A moment later, the trembling stopped and that tiny smile appeared at the left corner of Phil’s mouth.

The sounds of Lee’s breathing filled up the clearing, loud and ragged. He opened his mouth, but before he could speak, Phil pulled his hand down over Lee’s nipple. Nobody had ever touched him there before, and his nipple was so hard, even that short contact through his shirt almost hurt. The heat of Phil’s hand moved up between his pecs and stopped for a moment, over his heart.

He was so glad he worked out as Phil’s hand moved across his chest again, then down over his ribs, so slowly it was maddening. Lee sweated and popped Advil regularly, telling himself he pushed too hard so he could take off his shirt on stage—but he’d never done that. Lee watched Phil’s face until that hand made it to his obliques. Phil added his other hand and gripped him just above the waist, and Lee’s eyes fell closed as he moaned. Thoughts of bringing his incline bench out to Portland or maybe trying one of those low-fat diets skated through his mind.

“Shhh.” Phil shushed him at the same time he moved one hand to rest against Lee’s stomach. With the other, Phil gripped his waist tighter and kneaded just a bit. When he went on, Phil’s voice was a whisper that came from between Lee’s rapidly heating thighs. “We’re not very far from the trail. Sound travels out here.”

Phil didn’t move for what felt like ages. Lee nodded, his eyes still closed, and Phil trailed both palms down over his thighs. They reached his knees, squeezed gently, and then retraced their path back up to the waistband of Lee’s jeans. And then up and under his T-shirt.

Nathan chose that moment to enter, in his pink robe with the ostrich-feather trim. He spoke quickly, almost dancing through the room and toward the aroma of coffee. “Good morning. You don’t mind I borrowed your robe? And this must be Tim. Lovely to meet you, sweetheart. Coffee, then business.” He flounced into the kitchen.

Eric and Tim watched him go. The silence in his wake stretched out a little too long for Eric, who was mortified by the thought Tim might believe the robe belonged to him.

“What’re you planning to do with the place?”

“Run a retreat—a camp. We’re going to call it Buchanan House.”

“You the Buchanans?”

“What? Us? No, not us…. Nathan and I, we’re friends.” Eric wasn’t sure why the air had suddenly evaporated from the room, but he didn’t like the feeling. “We bonded in middle school over the hand dryers in the bathroom. We both used them regularly to combat the effects of swirlies.”

Tim pursed his lips and nodded. He looked like he was trying not to laugh, or getting ready to peck his grandmother on the cheek. Thinking that sent a shiver down Eric’s back.

“It’s for James Buchanan.”

“The president?”

“Yep.” Eric still wasn’t sure how it would go over, but he tried to pretend he didn’t care. “The confirmed bachelor president with a very close male friend. This will be our own little melting pot.”

Tim watched him closely and, after a moment, nodded again.

Eric wasn’t sure what Tim made of all that, but he didn’t seem upset. Actually, he didn’t seem to have much emotion at all. A pang of jealousy stabbed through Eric’s chest. He’d give a lot to feel a little less for a change.

Buchanan House

Eric Allen and his bestie buy a neglected hotel on the scenic Oregon coast to fulfill their middle-school dreams of co-owning a B&B. The building is in decent shape but in order to turn Buchanan House into the gay resort of their dreams, it’s going to need work.

Tim Tate is a skilled carpenter with many hidden talents, and a body that could grace the pages of a fitness magazine. When he and Eric meet, it’s mutual lust at first sight. Despite the intense attraction, both men are hesitant to fully out themselves by acting on it. But when they give in, it’s obvious that they’ve found something special—and not only in bed.

Before Eric can be free to love the gorgeous handyman they have to make it through the July4th grand opening. With rain that won’t stop and a meddling brother intent on wreaking havoc, can the holiday still go off with a bang?

My book in the event is Buchanan House—the first book in my first-ever series! It made the USA Today Must-Read Romance list the year of its original release and I’m super proud of it, but it was almost a very different story.

I took a trip to Lincoln City in 2014 before starting a new job—a long weekend at the beach to get some writing done. While I walked on that lovely beach, I started thinking about setting a story at a beach resort. An Oregon-style beach resort. And originally the story was going to be a mystery!

That was scary because I’d never written a mystery, but I saw the opening scene so clearly, so I played around with it for the rest of the day. But then I decided I didn’t want an actual dead guy in the story. We have enough dead queers in literature without me adding to the total on the page.

So then I tried to think of a way to have a compelling mystery without a dead body—something I’m still working on by the way!

By the next day I’d explored enough of the surrounding area to know that I wanted the resort to be a happy and hopeful place, not somewhere people expected bodies to turn up. So, the Buchanan House series was born. Each of the main books in the timeline start with a funeral (and “funeral” is in quotes more than once, you’ll have to read the books to see what I mean) and end with a wedding. The two novellas outside the main timeline—Pride Weekend and Holiday Weekend—don’t have either, but both have HFN endings.
