A #NotAtGRL #Giveaway

Okay, it turns out i’m sicker than I thought… and today I don’t mean in the “naughty mind” kind of way. So I’ve thrown this sparkly guy into the Rafflecopter at the Rainbow Gold Reviews FB Not At GRL Party!

Click here and visit the Rafflecopter… in order to enter, all you have to do is chat with one of the guest authors. Since there are at least 1-2 every hour, that should be more than easy!

Yep, me too. I’m not at GRL and neither is my sparkly friend here. But that doesn’t mean he can’t go to a good home! I threatened to give away something sparkly this weekend (and to give away my male muse’s favorite body part in effigy), and here it is! This lovely chapstick cozy can be yours. It even comes with a stick of Dreamspinner lip balm.

Long weekend, here I come!

One more day until the party train takes me up to Seattle for GRNW! I’m looking forward to seeing friends and making new ones. It’ll be my first IRL event as an author, so that means I’ll have a lot of new folks to meet!

I won’t have a table at the book fair, but will be walking around with a bag full of giveaways… swag and books and some surprises.

Today, I’m visiting the very cool Grace R. Duncan at her blog, talking about photography and research. And, of course, there are birds involved!

Stop by Grace’s: http://www.grace-duncan.com/guest-author-charley-descoteaux-2/

Next week my tour for Nesting Habits will wrap up on Wednesday at Guys Like Romance, Too! Hope to see you there!

Back to School Sale!

Charli Green wanted to toss this up on the YA blog, but I’m not comfortable sending anyone under 18 to the Dreamspinner store. Since it’s possible someone underage is following my YA blog, it goes here. If any of my grown-up friends knows someone fitting the description of Young Adult, and they’d like to read stories about queer kids, you can buy them a Back-to-School gift at 30% off!

“It’s Not Our Fault” — my first contracted YA story — will be released on September 4th as part of the First Time for Everything anthology. Not to give too much away, but it’s not your standard romance–it celebrates the fact that LGBTQ is more than just L and G. The antho is available for pre-order in both ebook and paperback.

Click the graphic to get to my Charli Green author page, or click here for the full selection of Harmony Ink titles.

It’s Not Our Fault, by Charli Green

Jordan Pond graduated from high school a year early. He didn’t know he’d have three weeks to fill before his first day of classes at the community college. He also didn’t know that during those seemingly endless weeks he’d have an awkward painful experience at Powell’s City of Books that might turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to him, even if it causes him to question everything he thought he knew about himself.

It’s an antho…

I’m too superstitious to suggest the release of First Time for Everything is the birth of a new branch of my writing career… but it could happen. 🙂

First Time for Everything hit the Coming Soon page today!

The anthology is up on the Dreamspinner Coming Soon page, which is a little odd to me, but whatever. Until it’s released–on Sept 4th!–I’ll keep the links off my YA blog and call it good. Click on the pretty book cover to visit the page and read all the blurbs–pre-order if you want it to show up on your DsP bookshelf at midnight eastern on the 4th.

If you’re going to GRNW, I’ll have a copy or two to give away. Not sure how I’ll decide who gets ’em (except for the organizers, I’ve already promised them one to give away at the readers meet-up :)). Ideas will be appreciated… possibly rewarded.

For those of you who haven’t visited my YA blog during all the snippetting, here’s my blurb.

“It’s Not Our Fault,” by Charli Green

Jordan Pond graduated from high school a year early. He didn’t know he’d have three weeks to fill before his first day of classes at the community college. He also didn’t know that during those seemingly endless weeks he’d have an awkward painful experience at Powell’s City of Books that might turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to him, even if it causes him to question everything he thought he knew about himself.

Here’s the antho blurb and a list of all the stories!

There’s nothing like the first time. Whether it’s a first crush, first date, first kiss, or finding tolerance and approval for the first time, for gay, lesbian, bi, and trans teens—or those still exploring and discovering their sexuality and identity—these important firsts can shape the rests of their lives. Gathering the courage to come out to their families, admit their feelings to a friend, or go to school presenting as the people they really are can be a struggle. But with the support of their allies and their own inner strength, the brave young people in these stories take the first steps toward happiness and living on their own terms. From sweet stories of newly discovered love, humorous accounts of awkward dinners and dances, to fights for acceptance and even survival, the teens in this anthology must face new challenges and rise to meet them. These are the first times they’ll never forget.

Double Digits!

Cover The Nesting Habits of Strange BirdsThe pre-order tally for The Nesting Habits of Strange Birds hit double digits today! Thanks bunches — from me and The Trevor Project. 🙂

Milestones should be celebrated, and how better to celebrate than with pretty pictures? I thought this one fit today’s theme nicely.

This week I WILL make time to post a snippet and be part of the Hop Against Homophobia and Transphobia.

What should my hop prize be?

Choice of a backlist title (one of mine :))? My June release? (Not the one that’s already going to be free–the one in Dreamspinner’s Mended Anthology. :))

A GC? Swag? Something else?

Thanks for your input!

Ta-daaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Here it is—my new artwork, made by the awesomely talented A.J. Corza! She took my mindless ramblings and half-baked ideas and created all this loveliness!

Thanks bunches A.J. 🙂

250-x-160-fixedTo celebrate the unveiling—and the fact that my first story since Christmas is now up for pre-order—I’m holding a giveaway. All you have to do to enter is share my new artwork somewhere—FB, Twitter, Tumblr—anywhere you like to share pretty and bookish things… Let me know you did it and then you’re done!

The story I’m celebrating is Not the Doctor, in Dreamspinner’s Mended Anthology. This year’s Daily Dose is a hurt/comfort extravaganza you won’t want to miss! Click here for excerpts, or click the title above for all the blurbs. Or you could do both… 🙂

350-x-60-fixedIf this post has between 1 and 19 comments by Sunday evening PST I’ll give away one copy each of my entire backlist—after comment #20, the pot goes up to 2 copies of each! The drawings will be completely random: I’ll head to Random.org for the comment number and plug them into my spreadsheet in the order they come up. The spreadsheet lists all of my titles in the order published

I’m almost caught up from being unplugged for the better part of three days. Who knew it would take so long? It was worth it, though–the DsP author workshop and GRNW Meetup were both amazing & I had too much fun.

I promised details about the weekend giveaway, and here’s one. I’ll give away one copy of each of my backlist titles, and if I get 20 or more comments on the post I’ll give away two of each! I had to check–that’s three short stories and two novellas! *lol*

Oh, and before I go I wanted to remind everyone that today’s the last day to get the Mended anthology at the lowest price. If you’re into hurt/comfort, check it out here.

See you Friday! 😀
