New Release (a little late!): A Buchanan House Love Stories Collection

Hello folx! I just realized I never announced the release of the Buchanan House boxset on my own website!

Release day was June 23rd, and the boxset is available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited. The set includes the entire series plus a bonus epilogue written for the collection—3 novels, 2 novellas, and 2 short stories in all, over 1,600 pages of romance!

Except for a couple of shorts that are going to be freebies (read to the end to learn how you can get copies!), all of my former Dreamspinner titles have now been re-released. I’ve self-published them under my own label, CeeTwo Publishing. (If you see them out there under any other name, please give me a heads-up. <3)

To be honest, I never wanted to go indie. I would rather have found a new publisher. But, after six years of less-than-stellar experiences at every press I worked with, it will take a while to rebuild my trust in small presses. In the meantime, I’m working to recapture the love of writing for its own sake—and to find the courage to keep putting new stories out into the world. It’s not easy to do everything on my own—there’s always something besides writing that needs to be done, and I’m sure many things have fallen through the cracks. I appreciate the patience and support of my fans and fellow authors alike—you are the reason I’m trying to get new stories finished. You are the reason I keep showing up on social media, even when it’s difficult and feels like I’m typing in invisible ink or shouting into the void.

So, if you like beach reads, created families, and hard-earned happy endings, please give A Buchanan House Love Stories Collection a try!

The 3rd Pride Month snippet…

Hello Snippetteers & Happy Caturday!

I hope you’ve had a great week & that your weekend is off to a good start! Today I’m snipping from Safe House, the 3rd book in the Buchanan House series. The boxset is up for pre-order now—only $5.99 for 3 novels, 2 novellas, and 2 shorts—including the exclusive epilogue, Anniversary Weekend. Over 1,000 pages of love stories!

In this snip, Kyle and Bran are on the beach, at the beginning of their set-up weekend.

“What are you doing?”

“Practicing.” Bran grinned and slowly tore his gaze away. He ran his hand around the side of a turret, smoothing it with a caress. When he was satisfied, he brushed the sand from his hands and stepped back. “I coach summer league baseball, and every year we enter the sand castle festival. This year, the damned thing isn’t going to collapse before the judging starts.”

The 2nd Pride Month snippet…

Hello Snippetters & Happy Pride Month!

I hope you’re staying safe and healthy while you celebrate!

My snip this weekend is from book 1.5 in the Buchanan House series—Pride Weekend! The boxset will be available on pre-order on Tuesday (fingers crossed Amazon cooperates!) at a special sale price, & available to read on 6/23!

For now, here’s a snip from the beginning of pride weekend on the central Oregon coast. Our hero, Adam, has just arrived at Buchanan House.

I was warming to the whole plan even before the most gorgeous man I’d ever seen glided up to me and smiled as he looked me over. Compared to everyone else in view, I was seriously overdressed in my khakis and salmon polo.

“Hello, sweetheart,” he said and extended a hand. His grip was surprisingly firm for a man wearing purple pants, a pink feather boa, and nothing else. “I’m Nathan Lucas, your hostess with the mostest. And who might you be?”

Thanks for reading!

Buchanan House

Eric Allen and his bestie buy a neglected hotel on the scenic Oregon coast to fulfill their middle-school dreams of co-owning a B&B. The building is in decent shape but in order to turn Buchanan House into the gay resort of their dreams, it’s going to need work.

Tim Tate is a skilled carpenter with many hidden talents, and a body that could grace the pages of a fitness magazine. When he and Eric meet, it’s mutual lust at first sight. Despite the intense attraction, both men are hesitant to fully out themselves by acting on it. But when they give in, it’s obvious that they’ve found something special—and not only in bed.

Before Eric can be free to love the gorgeous handyman they have to make it through the July4th grand opening. With rain that won’t stop and a meddling brother intent on wreaking havoc, can the holiday still go off with a bang?

Available now, only on Amazon & KU!

News and a snippet!

Hello and welcome to my snippet!

Last week I said I might have some news soon and this week it’s official–the final installment in the Buchanan House series will be published next summer! If all goes well *knocks wood* Dreamspinner will release Art House in August or September of 2018! I’m super excited about sharing Chase & Garrett’s story. It brings the series back to its beginnings (which is a hint :)), while tying a few things up with a pretty bow. I hope it’s a satisfying finale!

In the meantime I’m going to share snippets from the series. Last week’s was from book one, so here’s something from book two: Pride Weekend (it’s short, hot, and free!). This is a tiny bit longer than 6 sentences for context. I could’ve chosen something shorter but I’m going with a theme here–the ways different characters see the house itself.

My suitcase had wheels, but it wouldn’t be rolling on the gravel. Glad I’d packed light—because how many changes of clothes does one man need for three days, even if it is Pride weekend—I carried my things to Buchanan House. Clever. I’d liked the sound of it even before I read the article that practically said it was a gay, landlocked version of The Love Boat.

It didn’t seem grander in person, which was a little surprising considering the pictures online had been almost unassuming. Rustic and homey was more like it—a long, low building with only two floors, surrounded by trees, trees, and more trees. I like the outdoors as much as the next guy, but it was a relief to hear Madonna over the sounds of the ocean when I got close to the open front doors.

Thanks for reading!

It’s release day for my free short Pride Weekend!

PrideWeekendFSIt’s live and it’s free!

Book #2 in the Buchanan House series–the smexy little short “Pride Weekend” is ready to read. I love Adam & Silas and i hope you will too!

I’m hanging out on the Dreamspinner Blog today, chatting about Pride Weekend and giving away a free download of the audiobook version of Buchanan House!

Blurb:

Overworked cubicle jockey Adam Byron wants to attend Oregon Coast Pride in style but the price of a room at Buchanan House, a popular gay retreat on the central coast, is beyond his budget. So he won’t miss out, he advertises online for someone to share expenses. Corporate drone Silas Grant responds to Adam’s ad, and the two get to know each other via texts before meeting at the coast. They agree on a no-pressure roommate arrangement, yet once they meet face-to-face their attraction is undeniable. Desire might simmer well beyond Pride weekend, no matter how hard Adam and Silas try to live up to their noncommitment pact.

Excerpt:

Silas

I didn’t lose my nerve, but with how tentative and quiet Adam stayed while I chatted with our hosts and every other guest at the party, I took things slower than I would’ve liked. The last thing I wanted was for him to think I was a player. Maybe he just wasn’t used to being surrounded by a roomful of horny gay men. Or maybe he was naturally quiet in real life. Whatever his reasons, I could respect them, but I wouldn’t be deterred. I would find out what his body looked like, what it felt like against mine, what it tasted like.

And I would ignore the flare of jealousy I felt whenever another man checked out his ass or rested a hand on his arm.

Everyone flirted with everyone else—it’s just the way it worked at parties like that, and it didn’t necessarily mean anything. Except one couple kept eyeing him and whispering. Maybe hoping for a threesome, or foursome. When they started to approach us, after the other guests had left to go gambling or dancing in Lincoln City, I used a ruse to get Adam outside alone. It had worked on me the first time I had drinks at a party, in my sophomore year of high school, and it worked just as well on Adam. If he knew he hadn’t stumbled, he didn’t seem to care. The unquestioning way he let me take him outside had my dick filling before we cleared the porch. I didn’t think I could wait through the sunset, but it was pretty, so I stuck it out.

I wasn’t the only one who felt tortured, a fact that became obvious as soon as I let my arm rest in his lap.

“Do you want another drink?”

He flinched a little when I spoke. Neither of us had said a word for the past hour. Or maybe he startled because I increased the pressure of my arm against his cock at the same time.

“No, thanks. I’m good.”

I don’t doubt that. “How about if we go upstairs?”

He sighed, almost as though he’d been holding his breath and waiting for me to ask. “That sounds good.”

I didn’t really want to let go of him, but, physics. Once we stood and started moving toward the house, things happened fast. Almost fast enough. We raced up the back staircase—there didn’t seem to be time to go through the party room and then the lobby to take the indoor stairs. I pulled him by the hand until we reached the door to our room. Adam’s key was in a pocket without a button closure, so I reached inside and took it. I slipped my left hand back into that pocket while I unlocked the door with my right. Neither operation went quickly or smoothly, but that first handful—the first time I wrapped a hand around his hard cock, even through the fabric of his pocket—was a life-altering experience.

Sand… in… places…

PrideWeekend_FBprofile_OptizimedForFeedHappy Caturday, Snippetteers!

It’s Rainbow Snippets time again, the day when writers and bloggers share 6 sentences of queer fiction for your (and our!) reading pleasure! You might find historical fiction, YA, something sweet or something spicy, but the common thread is that all main characters will identify as LGBTQ+.

This is the last snippet i’ll share from “Pride Weekend”–by this time next week it’ll be released and you can read the whole story free!

Last week Silas didn’t think he had any choice but to let Adam leave, and i think i’ll let you see for yourselves how that works out. 😉 Next week i’ll share from Tiny House, Book #3 in the series.

You have sand… in… places.” Silas pulled my legs down so my feet touched the floor. He crossed his arms and leaned against my stomach, my poor aching dick touching neither his body nor his arms.

“So did you.” I moved my hips, trying for any contact with his skin and failing.

“Really?” He looked genuinely surprised. Silas stood, and in a single fluid motion, took my hands and pulled me to my feet. He kept my hands in his and lifted them out and away as he stepped so close our bodies touched from the sides of our feet to our chests. “Then you deserve a medal for what you just did to me. Come on. Let’s wash the beach away.”

Thanks for reading!

I’ve been sharing from my upcoming release “Pride Weekend” the free short Dreamspinner generously allowed me to offer as a thank-you to readers of the first book in the Buchanan House series, and i think i’ll do it again. PW may be a free short, but there is conflict–here’s a snippet from Silas’ point of view with a little bit of that. Plus, now that the cover art is fully released, i get to scatter it shamelessly about the tubes!

I’d never had so much sex in such a short time, but when Sunday came, my heart fluttered with panic. I didn’t want it to be over, for Adam to leave—to leave me. But we’d been clear on the “no strings” bit, and I had to live up to my end.

I lived up to it a little too well—leaping from bed at ten on Sunday to pack, locking him out of the bathroom while I showered, thanking him for arranging the fun weekend.

Adam must’ve packed while I was in the bathroom, because we barely said good-bye, and he left. He walked away from me, looking so dejected it broke my heart. I hadn’t wanted to let him go, but it didn’t seem like I had much choice.

No delicate flowers here…

RSMMmedHappy Caturday, Snippetteers!

It’s that time again, when writers and bloggers share 6 sentences of queer fiction for your (and our!) reading pleasure!

Last week I shared from my upcoming release “Pride Weekend” the free short Dreamspinner generously allowed me to offer as a thank-you to readers of the first book in the Buchanan House series. I’d thought it would be book “1.5” because that’s how it seems to be done with the freebies, but since Amazon only likes whole numbers it’s ended up being Book #2.

This snippet is before last week’s and is from Adam’s point of view. I think that’s enough intro–it’s pretty obvious what they’re up to. 😉

My speculation about how wonderful it would feel to touch Silas fell far short of the reality. His compact body was covered with absurdly soft skin, but he was not a delicate flower. Silas held me down and brought me so close to orgasm so fast it made me dizzy.

I tried to pull back and make it last, to go slower, but he only rutted against me harder, faster. When I tried to get one hand between us, he laughed—not in a mocking way. It sounded like exultation, as though he were reveling in a hard-won accomplishment.

Thanks for reading!

My double cover reveal event concludes Saturday, April 2nd at 11:59 pm ET, but if you’re reading this before then and are interested, you can get there from here. The placeholder cover below is a link, if you’d like to reserve your free copy at the Dreamspinner store.
