All Fired Up by Morticia Knight

Officer Shawn Everly patrols the Strip and one night, fireman Trent Marshall saves him when danger strikes. But it’s still uncertain whether Trent can save himself from getting his heart broken by Shawn.

The party never ends on the Las Vegas strip but neither does the danger. Officer Everly is new to the beat, having recently relocated to Vegas from Los Angeles. Foot patrol on the Strip is a demanding assignment because he’s up close and personal with the public. But what he’d really like to do is get up close and personal with Station 32’s hunky fireman, Trent Marshall.

Trent has been a fireman for over ten years and is dedicated to his job. He’s built tough and is a no-nonsense man of few words. At a local blood drive, Trent meets the handsome new officer on foot patrol but won’t let himself get too close. He’s lost love before when his policeman lover was killed in the line of fire.

During an emergency, Trent’s over-protective instincts kick in when he believes Shawn is in harm’s way. He ends up embarrassing and angering Shawn in front of their fellow officers, which seems as though it will end any hope of Trent having a chance with the young man he can’t push from his mind. Shawn can’t decide whether he wants to punch or kiss Trent. Kissing wins. Once they spend some time together away from the stresses of their jobs, they find that they’re not just compatible—they’re combustible.

But Trent can’t seem to accept that there are hazards that come with working in law enforcement. Right as they’re discovering how much they mean to one another, the danger escalates on the Strip. The underground vigilante group, The Citizens Against Immorality, have raised the stakes. Will Shawn and Trent be their next targets?

Exclusive Excerpt!

Letting go, he steadied Shawn then gave him a brief kiss. The urge he’d experienced in the truck came back. Before he could let his thoughts intrude, he gathered Shawn in his arms to carry him into the en suite bathroom. He’d expected resistance, but was pleasantly surprised when Shawn relaxed in his embrace. Once they were next to the shower stall that was separate from the sunken tub, he set him down.

“I promise to only do that when we’re alone.”

“Deal.”

He was relieved to see that Shawn didn’t appear miffed in any way. His dick certainly appeared happy enough.

Trent readied the water, but continuously stole peeks of Shawn’s stunning body. It looked even better than it had felt. Defined abs and hip lines, strong arms and legs proportioned wonderfully, a nice muscular butt—everything he’d dreamed Shawn would be. He returned his attention to the shower. Even though they’d been in the blistering heat all morning and part of the afternoon, he didn’t want to make it too cool. He had central air conditioning that kept his home at a comfortable temperature.

Trent extended his hand again and Shawn took it, but inclined his head in apparent confusion, no doubt wondering why Trent hadn’t undressed yet.

“Don’t you want to join me?”

“Of course I do. Step inside. I’ll be right back.”

Shawn did as he’d been told and Trent ducked quickly out of the bathroom and jogged down the hall. He’d been brash enough to purchase lube and condoms the night before, but hadn’t followed through with putting them in the nightstand. Once he’d brought the items home, he’d thought that maybe he was being too presumptuous. He’d clearly been mistaken.

They were still on the counter in the plastic bag from the pharmacy. Shawn had set the cooler right next to it and it had reminded Trent they were there. He grabbed what he needed and scurried back to the bedroom, tearing apart the cardboard container that imprisoned the lube as he went. Once he’d put everything away, he frantically yanked off his own clothing, anxious to be skin to skin with Shawn.

He entered the bathroom, light steam beginning to fill the area. Pulling the glass door open to the shower stall, he then stepped inside, immediately gathering a soapy Shawn to his body.

“Oh, Jesus.”

Shawn sounded breathless.

“Anything wrong?”

“Fuck no. You feel so good.”
