My first week of break has been spent battling the plague—luckily, there are worse things than napping in the afternoon and going to bed early with my new Nook Glowlight. I seem to be gaining ground on the germs, and managed to submit the YA and tackle edits for Chapter 1 of an MM Romance!

This week”s snippet picks up shortly after the one I posted the week before last, which is here if you missed it.

Janet has just taken Ross into a semi-private room at the club. He wasn’t very happy about it at first…

His mind stopped processing everything except the man striding in his direction. He had to be six three, and when he got closer, Ross thought he probably had a Japanese grandfather. He was gorgeous, with his long black hair, simple black suit, and smoky gaze.

“May I have a word?”

The man’s voice was even smokier than his gaze, and Ross already felt as though he were a heartbeat away from bursting into flame. He nodded, and a firm hand on his lower back guided him off to the side of the room. The man stopped in the center of an ornate oriental rug and looked Ross over appreciatively.

“I practice Shibari. You have heard of it?”

Getting lucky!

I made it through finals, now I just have to hold my breath another few days to find out whether/how much this term’s psycho instructors damaged my GPA. Not a one posted early this term. *grumbles*
Until then, I’ll be catching up on my reading, writing, and cleaning—not necessarily in that order (although cleaning usually does come in last!).

Today’s snippet is from Curious Sustenance.  Ross and Miles have been out of the spotlight since the Advent Calendar was released, and I kinda miss ’em (plus, the story I’m working on right now is YA and not all that seductive ;)). Since it’s still Friday the 13th for a few more hours, this week’s post continues my lucky theme of the day.  You can probably guess the context… 😉

ROSS WOKE up nestled in Miles’s arms, his head resting on the most perfect chest. He didn’t dare open his eyes. If it was all a dream, it didn’t have to end just yet. Forever might be long enough—then again, it might not. Miles was tall and deceptively lean to the eye, but his strength was very apparent beneath Ross’s cheek. His hard body was covered with the silkiest skin—it literally reminded Ross of silk with its supple strength.

He risked a deep breath, still unwilling to do anything to disturb Miles, or his own comfort, his head filing with the intoxicating scent of that luscious skin; Miles smelled earthy and a little spicy, with a hint of something fruity in the background. He could survive very well on a steady diet of that scent.

Time to share 8 sentences from a piece of fiction, whether it’s a work in progress or a finished and published story or something completely different. Amethyst is a close friend of Janet’s who, you may remember, is Ross’s best friend and workout buddy.

“Come with me,” Janet patted Ross’s thigh and smiled. “We’re going to Amethyst’s private rooms. Again, you don’t have to do anything unless you want to.”

Ross let her pull him halfway across the floor and stopped her at the door. “Are you going to do anything?”

“Probably not, but I love to watch Ami’s scenes. She’s very imaginative.” Janet winked and went through the door, and Ross felt he had no choice but to follow.

Curious yet?

7f2a6-long_seductivesns_rednblackWow, this will be the last snippet before Curious Sustenance is released! It feels like sending my sweet innocent five year old off to her first day of high school! I know, that’s a little over the top, get back to me next weekend and see if I’m prepared to issue a retraction or if I’m still in a chocolate coma.

This snippet picks up shortly after last week’s, which is here if you missed it.

Janet and Ross have just left the foyer lined with the red curtains. She was smart, and linked her arm through his so he couldn’t make a mad dash for the exit. 😉

She waved to a couple sitting in a conversation pit to their left, and Ross heard a moan to his right. Across the room, right outside an alcove in the corner, a nude man sat tied to a chair while a leather-clad woman teased him with a riding crop.

“This is a sex club,” Ross hissed into Janet’s ear. “You brought me to a sex club?”

She pulled him the last few steps to the bar and found them two empty stools. The stools were freestanding, and a few didn’t match; it was like being in someone’s living room while they were having a theme party. Before Janet had time to answer, his eyes grew wide and he leaned in even closer.

“You’re in a sex club?”

Happy Caturday, kinksters!

It’s time for another 8 sentences from as many amazing authors as you can handle over one weekend (and me :)). Throughout November—Kink Month—all my snippets will be from Curious Sustenance. I’ll make them as kinky as possible without giving too much away.

This week our hero, Ross, and his workout buddy, Janet, are going to her favorite club—which just so happens to be a sexy little place where anything can happen at any time. Ross thinks they’re just going out for drinks, but is about to get a big surprise.

 

“You can stay anonymous. And since you have those luscious green eyes, you’ll be hiding behind the name Hunter.” Janet smiled and gently pulled his top button open before taking Ross by the hand and heading for the door.

On the other side of the red door was a foyer lined with red velvet curtains. Janet passed her coat and purse to a pretty young man on the other side of a counter. It was as if they’d stepped onto the set of an old porn flick. Brad had been on an oldies kick not long ago, and the fake potted palm in the corner, muted lighting, and shirtless boy behind the counter wearing a red bow tie the exact color of the curtains reminded him of one of those flicks. He backed toward the door.
