New Release (a little late!): A Buchanan House Love Stories Collection

Hello folx! I just realized I never announced the release of the Buchanan House boxset on my own website!

Release day was June 23rd, and the boxset is available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited. The set includes the entire series plus a bonus epilogue written for the collection—3 novels, 2 novellas, and 2 short stories in all, over 1,600 pages of romance!

Except for a couple of shorts that are going to be freebies (read to the end to learn how you can get copies!), all of my former Dreamspinner titles have now been re-released. I’ve self-published them under my own label, CeeTwo Publishing. (If you see them out there under any other name, please give me a heads-up. <3)

To be honest, I never wanted to go indie. I would rather have found a new publisher. But, after six years of less-than-stellar experiences at every press I worked with, it will take a while to rebuild my trust in small presses. In the meantime, I’m working to recapture the love of writing for its own sake—and to find the courage to keep putting new stories out into the world. It’s not easy to do everything on my own—there’s always something besides writing that needs to be done, and I’m sure many things have fallen through the cracks. I appreciate the patience and support of my fans and fellow authors alike—you are the reason I’m trying to get new stories finished. You are the reason I keep showing up on social media, even when it’s difficult and feels like I’m typing in invisible ink or shouting into the void.

Hello Snippetteers & Happy Caturday!

I hope you’ve had a great week & your weekend is off to a good start (whether it’s a long one or not). Last week I’d planned to post my 4th Pride Month snippet, but the time got away from me while I was promoting the release of the Buchanan House boxset!

So, a week late but maybe more appropriate (see the end of this post for why that is :)), I give you a snip from Holiday Weekend! This is a little more than 6 sentences, but more than one is very short. 🙂

Nathan grinned. He’d been hesitant to close Buchanan House for Christmas weekend, but was glad they had. They seldom enjoyed the privacy to do whatever they wanted without the need to think about who was around or what chores awaited when they’d finished. Eric hadn’t given him much choice in the matter, though, and Nathan was prepared for a friendly “I told you so.” Or two. It wouldn’t be the first group wedding they’d held at the camp, but it would be the first with three couples from their family.

I hope you’ve had a great week & that your weekend is off to a good start! Today I’m snipping from Safe House, the 3rd book in the Buchanan House series. “What are you doing?”

“Practicing.” Bran grinned and slowly tore his gaze away. He ran his hand around the side of a turret, smoothing it with a caress. When he was satisfied, he brushed the sand from his hands and stepped back. “I coach summer league baseball, and every year we enter the sand castle festival. This year, the damned thing isn’t going to collapse before the judging starts.”

Hello Snippetters & Happy Pride Month!

I hope you’re staying safe and healthy while you celebrate!

My snip this weekend is from book 1.5 in the Buchanan House series—Pride Weekend! The boxset will be available on pre-order on Tuesday (fingers crossed Amazon cooperates!) at a special sale price, & available to read on 6/23!

For now, here’s a snip from the beginning of pride weekend on the central Oregon coast. Our hero, Adam, has just arrived at Buchanan House.

 

I was warming to the whole plan even before the most gorgeous man I’d ever seen glided up to me and smiled as he looked me over. Compared to everyone else in view, I was seriously overdressed in my khakis and salmon polo.

“Hello, sweetheart,” he said and extended a hand. His grip was surprisingly firm for a man wearing purple pants, a pink feather boa, and nothing else. “I’m Nathan Lucas, your hostess with the mostest. And who might you be?”

Eric Allen and his bestie buy a neglected hotel on the scenic Oregon coast to fulfill their middle-school dreams of co-owning a B&B. The building is in decent shape but in order to turn Buchanan House into the gay resort of their dreams, it’s going to need work.

Tim Tate is a skilled carpenter with many hidden talents, and a body that could grace the pages of a fitness magazine. When he and Eric meet, it’s mutual lust at first sight. The first Pride Month snippet…

Hello Snippetters & Happy Pride Month! I hope you’re staying safe and healthy while you celebrate!

My snip this weekend is from the first book in my Buchanan House series—I’ll be talking about it a lot from here on out, since the boxset will be out on June 23rd!

For now, here’s a snip from work party weekend, when some of the family meet Tim, the handyman helping the MC (Eric) and his bestie fix up the LGBTQIA+ resort, for the first time.

 

The closer Eric got to Tim, the hotter his face felt. Damn Nathan and Paulie and their uncouth natures, making Eric think of Tim’s hands…. By the time he turned back to look at everyone, sitting around the table looking like a bunch of fat cats with canaries in their mouths, Eric knew his face was red. “Everyone, this is Tim. He’s been fixing things around here. He’s a professional handyman.”

A creepy snippet…

Hello Snippetteers & Happy Caturday! If you’re celebrating this weekend, I hope you have a lovely–and safe–holiday!

Today I’m snipping from a WIP that completely disrupted my plans for this morning. It’s very rough–as in, I just wrote these words a few minutes ago–but I’m sharing anyway. I need all the writerly energy I can get right now. Even though this isn’t my official Camp NaNo story, I’ve written my 1K on it today (plus a little more) so I’m happy!

For some reason I’m doing better with creepy/scary stories so far this year instead of the fluff I had anticipated (and planned for LOL)! But I’ll take it! #Quarantinelife is better with voices in my head, they can tell me any stories they like. 😀

No intro for this one, because I’m not 100% sure where it’ll end up, or how long it wants to be. Don’t forget to squint while reading so these un-edited sentences won’t hurt your eyes. 🙂

 

Dave always shuddered when he passed the sprawling old house. He swore the temperature was always colder than on the rest of his route—even in the summer the sun never seemed to penetrate the mature trees and the shadow of that house. He would have preferred a different route entirely, but he took his elderly neighbor’s dog with him when he ran, and the path between the lake and the crumbling Gothic mansion was the best, and safest, place to run. The sun was a distant memory everywhere on the shortest day of the year, but when Dave came in view of the house he still shivered.

Jack, the energetic German Shepherd Mr. Brown adored, pulled at his lead and let out a short bark, taking Dave by surprise. Jack had never so much as stepped out of the heel position, regardless of how excited he was to go for a run.

A de-licious snippet…

Hello Snippetteers! I hope you’re well & happy on this lovely Caturday!

I’m starting to settle into my pandemic routine—it doesn’t feel quite so shocking to wipe down groceries or work with what’s available on (mostly-empty) store shelves instead of planning my usual meals. Shelter-in-place isn’t as difficult for me as it would be for an extrovert, but it’s still taken some getting used to.

Not only do I have a snippet this week, but I’m also working on a winter holiday story & finalizing my anniversary short in the Buchanan House series. It feels great to be having fun with my writing again!

This week’s snip is from Silken Ropes. For some strange reason, this will be my first time snippetting from it since its re-release! March was much busier than I’d planned!

This is the second time Ross has been to the club, and it has an extra sentence—it’s only one word, and I thought the snip would be incomplete without it. 😊

 

Ross emerged into another large room, this one decorated in emerald green with all the tassels and candles and richly gleaming metals he’d come to expect. A small group of people lounged on what looked like a sectional sofa covered in green velvet, watching something beyond Ross’s field of vision around a corner. He moved as quietly as he could to get a look at the scene. A slim young man stood in the center of a small stage that appeared to be surfaced in thick, hard rubber. What Ross could see of his bare chest shone in the spotlight that was trained on him, his hands were bound behind his back with a short bar between them, and he was blindfolded. All he wore was a black thong. De-licious.
