No wonder my head hurts!

tilted roseOne of the reasons I rearranged the furniture was to make the links to Pages more obvious. I have a Free Read up—but in the three months it’s been around the page has only been visited nine times. I want to do more with that Page, so it has to be more visible.

Also, I thought it would be best if I had a landing page—so anyone who happened to stumble in unaware that I’m an Erotic Romance author of the Rainbow Persuasion would have the chance to turn back before seeing anything they wouldn’t want to see.  Now that all that’s taken care of, I can post pretties like this whenever I want to.

Or even this!

I’m not saying this is what Dreamspinner Press’ Contract Fairy looks like, but I sure felt like a kid again yesterday afternoon! (I also developed another layer of sympathy for Little Bunny Foo-Foo and am still a little stunned.) Why? Because yesterday I found out that Not the Doctor (Joe & Kai’s story) will be a part of the Mended anthology in June, and The Nesting Habits of Strange Birds will be published in August/September of this year! Strange Birds will be my first-ever published novel, so I’m super excited! I can’t wait for you-all to meet Phil and Lee! (Okay, some of you have sort of met them already. :))

hummingbird medium_7952552148Tomorrow, I’ll be visiting Grace R. Duncan with a couple more pretties and a bit about Shibari. Monday, you can find me at Shae Connor’s blog with a more serious post about the Japanese Internment and how it features in Curious Sustenance.

Going forward you can expect regular snippetry on the weekends, more pretty pictures whenever I feel like it, and whatever else spills out of my head before the filter locks into place. You’ve been warned. 😉

Two giveaways!

ToyRun_FBThumbToday I’ve brought Ian and Ed to visit Brita Addams’ blog. I’m talking about long bike rides and how life and fiction differ on what that means. Stop by and tell me about the craziest thing you ever did just for fun, and maybe win a copy of “Toy Run.” You know what to do…http://britaaddams.wix.com/britaaddams#!charley-descoteaux/ci1r

IMG_7080[1]Tomorrow stop by Cup O Porn for my last pre-Christmas giveaway. Up for grabs are a copy of “Toy Run” and a cute motorcycle jacket key chain.  The zipper even works!

Winners! (And a little housekeeping.)

Thanks to everyone who visited me during the QTA Christmas Blog Hop! It was a lot of fun, hopping around and gathering up so many cool new recipes! A complete list of Grand Prize winners is here. Congratulations!

Congrats to my winners too, Shirley Ann won my $5 gift card and the cute little saddlebag key chain is on its way to chickie434!

tilted roseThe amazing Deanna Wadsworth let me ramble into TMI territory over on her blog. You can find that post here.

On Wednesday I’m visiting Tempeste O’Riley. If you stop by, be sure and look around–her book Designs of Desire is getting a lot of attention and was just released as an audiobook!

I’ve been meaning to post something here that’s not promo or for a blog hop and it may happen this week sometime, so consider yourselves warned. Content is always a crapshoot when nobody’s handing me a subject or checking up to be sure I’m playing well with others.

I’d say Happy Monday, but the jury’s still out on that one.  Hope yours is going well!

Calendar update and winners!

Victory Waits on Your Fingers medium_3213853041Happy Monday! I hope your December is off to a good start!

First, the winners of my weekend giveaway!

Nancy won a book from Thianna D!

Thianna won a book of her choice from Dianne Hartsock’s backlist!

Carolyn also won a book from Thianna D!

Laurie can take her pick from either the picture frame or a naughty bit of crochet.

Thanks for playing, and a special thanks to the lovely authors who donated their books.

This will be a busy month for all of us, so I hope you’ll have a chance to visit during the two blog hops I’ve joined for the month:  Dec. 3-10 is the Christmas Paws Blog Hop, and Queertown Alley’s hop runs from the 8th through the 10th.

This Thursday, the 5th, Deanna Wadsworth is letting me get a little TMI on her blog.

December 13–yep, Friday the 13th–i’ll be blogging on the ARe Cafe about biker superstitions, and on the 18th my interview with Tempeste O’Riley will post to her blog.

The week of Christmas I’ll be visiting Brita Addams on the 23rd and Cup O’Porn on the 24th. I’m not sure which bit of swaggy goodness I’ll have with me on Christmas Eve, but I never visit CoP without a present of some kind!

December 28th the lovelies over at The Novel Approach will host me again, and giving away a copy of my Christmas story. In case you haven’t had enough holiday spirit yet!

Whew, that seems like a lot–especially since I’m hoping to finish polishing my YA novel AND a full-length Gay Contemporary Romance before my next term starts on January 6th! Wish me luck!

Welcome to Kink Month!

Hi everyone and welcome to Kink Month—known elsewhere as November. 🙂

My next Dreamspinner release is the novella Curious Sustenance, a Contemporary Romance with a side of kink. Last year at this time, I was just starting edits on my first-ever erotic Romance! It’s been a helluva year so far and it’s about to get even crazier. The holidays are almost here, and I feel like celebrating!

Bi Pride Week was so much fun I wanted to do something even bigger this time–so I’ve invited some friends over to chat about whatever’s on their kinky little minds. You’ve been warned. 😉

My stories aren’t all kinky, but Curious Sustenance wouldn’t be the same without the cozy little sex club. While working on the details I realized something that startled me—not everyone is kinky.

It’s not startling because I didn’t already know that, it’s startling because I’ve been in touch with my kinks for so long I’d forgotten! I’m not hardcore, but I dig having a twisted mind and wouldn’t want to go back to the naive gal who thought vanilla was just a flavor of ice cream. It’s too much fun—especially now, everything you could ever dream of is out there on the internet just waiting to be found!

The early 90s were another story, though. Back then, we (and by we, I mean “I”) had to experiment on our own or read books or, if we were brave enough, go to a meeting and find people who (hopefully) knew what they were doing.

I guess the point of this—besides to welcome everyone to Kink Month and post a schedule—is to embrace your kink. Do a little daydreaming, a little searching, a little reading. If you like it—do a little more. I don’t know exactly what you’ll find here over the next month (control isn’t really my thing in this context ;)), but at least some of it is bound to push a button or two. Just be careful, be sane, and be safe.

If you’re not a kinky person, that’s okay too, as long as you’re having fun.

Impatiently Yours, Your Unwritten Novel

A strange e-mail popped up in my inbox yesterday. It was from my unwritten novel. The strange part? My first thought was “which one now?”

The e-mail was from the great folks at NaNoWriMo. NaNo is fun, but I won’t be participating this year. I already have three unfinished novels biting at my ankles—and those are only the ones I’m planning to finish within the next six months (or so :)).

This November won’t be NaNo in my world—it’ll be Kink Month! What does that mean? Well, it’s the theme for the month leading up to the release of my “Romance with a side of kink”—Curious Sustenance—but otherwise, your guess is as good as mine! I’ve invited a few friends over and given them free rein, so it’ll be a surprise for everyone!

My aim is to have a few conversations about the things some of us don’t talk about every day, and have a little fun. Oh, and give away a few things—books, yes (because it’s impossible to have “enough” books), but also some cute, flirty, and useful stuff. More about that later. For now, I have a question for you.

What would you like to talk about during Kink Month?

Happy Coming Out Day, GRL, & a bit of the future . . .

I hope everyone who chooses to come out today has the best possible experience.

If you’re not coming out today, that’s okay. Don’t feel like you have to do this (or anything else, really) before you’re good and ready. It’s your life; it’s your choice.

I haven’t had a lot of time to spare lately, but I couldn’t let COD pass without at least a mention. I hope all my personal junk will settle down and let me get into a rhythm for the term SOON–I miss snippets and chatting with everyone here and on FB & Twitter.

Over the past few months I’ve been working on a crapton of knitting to give away, and I sent the first bit off today! It’s my contribution to the Cockwalk Raffle, and will go to someone next Friday! If you’re going to GRL, be sure and grab a raffle ticket or five–it’s for a great cause: supporting Atlanta’s homeless LGBTQ youth. Thanks again, Anne Tenino, for helping me arrange to “be there” in spirit. 😉

chapstick cozyOne more bit of news and then it’s back to the books. My next release is a long novella that should be out in late November. Curious Sustenance is a Romance with a side of kink, so November is going to be Kink Month! Hope to see you here!

Winners and guests . . .

Victory Waits on Your Fingers medium_3213853041

Happy Monday, everyone!

Congratulations to Belinda, who won the Grand Prize in the Authors Care hop!

A great big thank you to everyone who commented on my post. I’ve sent a $10 Amazon GC to Ashtrie, and have three envelopes on my desk just waiting to head to the post office—one each for Pam, bn100, and Hunter!

I’m so glad last week is over. It’s important to have those conversations, but it wrings me out emotionally. I have fun giving away prizes, though, so it almost evens out.

love-tree-banner.jpgThis Thursday, fellow Dreamspinner author Layla M. Wier is visiting. She’ll be talking about scouting locations for her novella Homespun, which takes place in Upstate NY. She’s also bringing a contest, so be sure and stop by!

Next Monday, Sept 23, is Bi Pride Day! To celebrate i’ve invited a bunch of authors to talk about what being bi means to them &/or to their characters—so that should be fun!

It’s been a while since I’ve rambled on this space—maybe that’s a good thing? *lol* I’ve been busy working on a full-length Romance and figuring out the details of my PNR, and most of my Words of the Week have been dry legal terms.

When I realized I’ve been in school over a year studying all the legal stuff i hope to be able to use by this time in 2014, I decided to look for something fun and writing-related to study. I’m taking a Savvy Authors class on Writing Same-Sex Romance, and so have been pondering many Romancy things lately. I’m hoping to make the most of this week—before I get buried in legal stuff again—and ponder here later.

You’ve been warned! 🙂

Not sure why i want to put this here–maybe because our sun is gone!

Last day to enter!

I hope you’ve had a wonderful week, and enjoyed the books my guests shared with us. The Back to School Blog Hop is almost over, so i wanted to remind you how to enter.

Click here to get to my post, and then you can leave a comment with some crazy parenting advice for Jake to help him keep tabs on DJ in the big bad world of LA. I’ll contact my winner by this Sunday, courtesy of Random.org.

At the end of my post is a link to the Rafflecopter giveaway, and with a grand prize of a $100 Amazon gift card you don’t want to skip that! Once you’ve tossed your name in the hat for the grand prize, hop around to enter the 20+ individual giveaways–the link to the master list is in my post, or you can let the hottie above lead you in the right direction.

Thanks for playing!

Have a fabulous weekend, and be sure to come by on Monday when Posy Roberts will be my guest!
