An Easter egg snippet…

Hello & welcome to my snippet! I took Caturday off this week so this is a little late. It’s a bit from Art House that includes a location you might recognize if you’ve read The Nesting Habits of Strange Birds and/or Better Than New. Chase’s surprise visit from Garrett’s BFF Jess includes breakfast and the TLC he’s in need of.

She patted his hand and led him two blocks to a hole-in-the-wall coffeehouse he’d been to maybe a handful of times, and sat him on a small sofa covered in blue-and-white-striped fabric. “Stay here. I’ll be right back.”

Chase looked around, but everything looked just a bit off. It’s me. I need food and coffee. Or maybe the place was actually surreal. On a high shelf behind the counter sat a row of what looked like sculptures made from broken coffee cups.

Not a spoilery snippet..

Hello & Happy Caturday! I just wrapped up my Art House tour (except for the giveaway winner, so there’s still time to comment & enter!) but am not ready to say goodbye to those guys quite yet. Here’s a cagey little snippet that would be spoilery if I gave it any intro.

 

He couldn’t see much—the glow from Buchanan House barely made it around the corner of the boathouse—but the pounding of the surf was near enough to feel in the air. When he tipped his head up, a smattering of stars shone in the black velvet sky. The wind buffeted his face, tossing random mist at him, and Chase might have actually howled at the beautiful moon if Garrett hadn’t groaned.

He collapsed against Chase and groaned again. “I’m sorry. I can’t.”

When Chase woke up from his second power nap after his second orgasm, Garrett was sitting cross-legged beside him on the bed. He was eating some kind of noodles from a to-go container, his cheeks tinged a light pink. “That smells great.”

“Tastes even better.” Garrett kissed him with sweet-and-sour sauce on his lips. “We should go dancing tonight.”

A classy little snippet…

Hello and welcome to my snippet! It’s been awhile–but I’m moved into my new home & most of the boxes are unpacked, so now it’s time to get back to “normal.” I can actually see my carpet AND the lovely stone tiles on my dining room floor! Most of them, anyway.

In honor of the release of Art House, Buchanan House: Book Six I’m going to snippet from it! This scene between Chase & Garret is a little longer than 6 sentences, so you can stop after 6 if you’d like. The first line is Chase’s.

 

“What other retro things do you want to try?”

“Talking on a dialing phone.”

That was fast. “You mean a rotary phone?”

“Is that what they’re called? Say, did you have other people on your phone line when you were a kid?”

“You mean a party line? Yes, for a little while.”

“That sounds like fun.”

“Yeah… not really. Almost every time we picked up the phone, someone would already be talking, so we’d have to wait until they were finished. It sounds like more fun than it was.”

“Aww, don’t burst my bubble. You didn’t hear any secrets? Bust anyone cheating or talking about committing a crime?”

“Not once. Sorry, babe.”

Garrett kissed Chase’s neck and slid one leg between his—he didn’t rub, just let it sit there driving Chase mad. “You’re way better than history class.”

A cool little snippet…

Hello and welcome to my snippet!

It won’t be long and I’ll be able to share the cover L.C. Chase made for Art House. It’s literally smokin’. The Novel Approach will host my cover reveal on Thursday, 7/19 and I can’t wait! For now, here’s a steamy little snippet that ends on a cool note. It’s NSFW, but not too far over the line. 😉

 

Chase kissed Garrett’s shoulders and started working his way down. “You’re burned.”

“I’m burning, you mean.” Garrett pulled the knot in the rope holding up his shorts and pushed them to the floor. His cock bounced stiffly for a second before Garrett leaned his body against Chase’s. “I want you.”

Chase walked him backward the few steps to the bed closest to the bathroom and took the time to toss the blanket away so they could lie on the cool sheets.

Another house-centric snippet…

Hello and Happy Pride! Welcome to my snippet!

This week’s will be my last house-centric teaser from the Buchanan House series. Probably. It’s from Art House, Buchanan House: Book Six, which will be out in late August. It can pretty much stand on its own, so I’m going to let it do that.

 

Chase dragged himself down the hidden staircase and followed the aroma of coffee into the kitchen. If it had been a day when Buchanan House was open, the kitchen would have been bustling with activity even at eleven in the morning. On a Wednesday, not so much. Pretty much the only sound came from the laundry room, but the closed door kept it fairly quiet in the kitchen. Chase poured himself coffee, and Paulie gave him a peach scone. Paulie knew he wasn’t much of a breakfast eater, and the fact that he didn’t try to feed him a whole meal made Chase feel calm. Understood. Like he was with family.

A less than artful proposition…

I hope you’re staying cool (or warm, depending on where you are) and enjoying life! Things are slowly getting back to normal here which is a relief because i have a lot of cool stuff coming up and don’t want to do any of it halfway.

I’m sharing from BH#6 again today–the last book in my Buchanan House series (that is still not finished). Last week I introduced Garrett and this week am rolling out a teaser for one of the big issues in the story. You can find previous snippets from this story here.

Nope. Not telling what it is but you’ll probably get it. 🙂

The first line of dialogue is a guy who works in an art supply store. He’s just recognized Chase’s name from his credit card and they chatted a little about art while the kid bagged his purchase. Standard warnings re: creative punctuation and unedited material apply.

 

“Say, if you’re free in a couple hours maybe we could grab a beer and talk about it.”

The kid’s look said talking was probably low on his priority list; Chase guessed the kid would have let him buy the beer though.

“Not free, but thanks.”

“I don’t see a ring.”

Is this what getting cruised is like now?

Chase shuddered but forced what he hoped was a friendly smile onto his face at the same time. “Not everyone who’s unmarried is free.”
