Refreshing and Focusing

I started this blog in 2012, in anticipation of my first publication in the e-first Romance market. I thought it would be used to promote my books, maybe to find a group of people who would become my community. That’s not what happened.

This blog has primarily been used to promote other authors and their work.

I looked back at the content I’ve published here and was a little surprised to see this. With one exception, all of my high-traffic posts have been about books I didn’t write. This is something I’m proud of and want to continue.

This space hasn’t been very well-used for the past three or so years, mainly because I was involved in a serious car accident early in 2017. My recovery from those injuries is an ongoing process. To be honest, I haven’t been able to devote much time to writing or blogging simply because the work of coming back from those injuries combined with making a living has required so much time and energy that there was nothing left over for creativity.

And that’s okay.

Realizing that is also something I’m proud of.

My goal is to refresh this space and start posting again on a regular basis—weekly at first and we’ll see how it goes.

This blog will still be about promoting the work of artists and writers. My primary focus will be queer representation in entertainment, especially the flavors we don’t see as often as white cis gay men / lesbians. Mostly books, but also television and movies and wherever I find queer rep I want to talk about. Some of my opinions might be agreeable and some will probably not be socially acceptable. And I don’t promise to keep as tight a rein on my language as I have in the past so be prepared to see the word fuck (and portmanteaus using it) more often.

I hope you’ll find something cool and want to keep coming back to join the conversation.

Thanks for reading! ❤
