Hola Snippetteers!
Hope you’re having a great day, where ever you are! This weekend I’ve finished proofing the holiday story (ahead of deadline :)) and am working on first edits for an urban fantasy that should be out sometime early next year. Hope you’re having a productive weekend too!
Last week my snippet was over the limit so this week’s is a tiny one to make up for that. It’s from the Christmas story, Holiday Weekend, Buchanan House: Book Five. This is from Ryan’s point of view, during his first date with Glenn.
I couldn’t figure out what was holding me back—if we were in a bar, I would’ve already made some kind of a play. But we weren’t in a bar. We were at an all-ages dance party, and my date was…. I didn’t know how old he was, not for sure. Over eighteen, I guessed. I hoped. Under twenty-one. Probably by more than a month or two.
Thanks for reading!

All of the Buchanan House books are available at the Dreamspinner store. They’re all on sale for 30% off through 10/23 too. Book Two, Pride Weekend, is always free at Dreamspinner and All Romance eBooks.
LOL, yeah, I think I’d be feeling a little awkward there too. I’m thinking Glenn isn’t, though. I always love when it’s the older one who needs help loosening up. 🙂
Well, a dance party is more refined than a bar, so, yeah, I can see the hesitation as opposed to if they were in a bar. I love him trying to guesstimate the age, though.
An intriguing snapshot of the object of the speaker’s romantic interest, which reveals more about the speaker himself.
I’m intrigued about Ryan with this snippet, especially with the age making him hesitate. I love Christmas stories. And looking forward to hearing more about your urban fantasy – love that genre.
