A revealing snippet & giveaway!

RSMMmedHappy Caturday, Snippetteers!

Today, not only do I have a fully edited snippet to share, I have a cover!

It’s getting close to release day for the next Buchanan House book! Safe House is available for pre-order now at the Dreamspinner store. If you don’t have your copy of Tiny House yet you might want to wait a couple of weeks to grab Safe House. There might be a good reason to wait. Just sayin’. 😉

The snippet below is from Kyle’s POV, during a quiet moment at his Cinderella ball.

He knew it wouldn’t be long before someone would drag him back to the party, but he’d stay on the fringes as long as possible. Maybe it would be long enough to figure out why he couldn’t stop thinking about Brandon Smith. He might be a nice guy, but Kyle couldn’t see any reason to be fixated on the man, even without taking into account that he had voluntarily chosen a career in law enforcement. For all Kyle knew, Brandon had never racially profiled anyone.

Maybe I’m developing a kink? From now on I’ll be attracted to men who trip my fight-or-flight response? Maybe even guys who actually scare me?

Thanks for reading!

And here’s the gorgeous cover!

To celebrate the fact that L.C. Chase keeps knocking it out of the park with the covers for this series I’m going to give away an ebook copy of book one, Buchanan House, to a commenter on this post. Random.org will choose on Sunday afternoon after Fear the Walking Dead. 🙂

Kyle Shimoda is an asshole magnet, has been for as long as he can remember. At forty-seven, he doesn’t see much chance for improving his luck in love. His friends who run Buchanan House, a gay retreat on the central Oregon coast, know he wants to find “someone nice” to settle down with, and they set him up with Officer Brandon Smith. Kyle has a turbulent history with law enforcement, but he can’t deny his attraction to the buff cop.

Brandon has been a police officer in Lincoln City almost since the day he graduated from high school over thirty years ago. He’s cultivated the facade of a serious, disciplined law enforcement officer, but beneath his overdeveloped chest beats the soft heart of a drama queen. A cancer scare shifts Bran’s focus from finding a serious relationship to having as much sex as he can—putting his goals squarely at odds with Kyle’s. If he can’t find the courage to be honest about his feelings for Kyle, the happiness they’ve both been searching for could slip through their fingers.

  1. I love this series and can’t wait to read this one. The cover is beautiful indeed. The best part for me, the older characters; middle age love stories are my weakness.

    * Please don’t add me to the giveaway.

  2. Can I fangirl squeal yet??? I am so excited for this. I’m all caught up with the others already. 🙂

Great snippet, and I’m looking forward to seeing Kyle get his HEA.

  3. I love the cover. The use of one colour in shades and black is effective and even though I adore male couples, the detail of the sandcastle keeps grabbing my attention.
The description has just enough angst to make me want the best for Kyle although I am squirming with Brandon’s change in priorities JUST as he is about to meet a guy that would have met his former need for a relationship.
