Hola Snippetteers and welcome!
Thanks for keeping on keeping on while i was laid up last week. To be honest, it’s been a long time since i’ve felt 100% but hopefully that’s about to change. I don’t want to wish my life away, but will be happy when this recovery is over and i can go back to doing all the things!
I’m sharing from BH#6 today–the last book in my Buchanan House series (that is still not finished). The last time i snippetted i shared the opening six lines, from Chase’s POV. You can find those here (it’s been awhile!).
This is a little longer than six lines and i apologize for the dense block of text (and its unedited state). It’s from chapter two and seemed to show a lot about Garrett without giving away too much. Still, i had to redact an entire sentence to avoid a spoiler for Safe House. You can find out what it was on September 19. 😉
Garrett couldn’t remember when he’d last seen a picture printed out on paper but Chase had five. [Redacted] Garrett remembered cameras flashing then but had avoided them so he wasn’t surprised when he didn’t see himself in either of those. The other three surprised his breath away. All had been taken at a bonfire, he and Chase sitting on the sand and leaning against the logs ringing the fire pit. In two they sat side by side, attention focused somewhere past the camera’s reach, Chase’s arm around Garrett’s shoulders. Garrett took the third from the dresser to examine it more closely. In it, he sat between Chase’s tented knees, leaning against his chest and looking up into his face, one of Chase’s arms draped loosely across Garrett’s body. He couldn’t see it but he knew that hand gripped his waist—he could almost feel it there, the warmth spreading from his side throughout his body. The flames painted lovely colors across their faces as they gazed at each other.
Thanks for reading!

I can’t wait for the next book, but I don’t want the series to end… lol 😂
Thank you, Lila! ❤
Wow…I love how you slowly built up the steam, weaving it amidst the intense description of his memories, as he’s looking at the picture.
What a sweet lovely scene. Really makes me want to know more about these two.
Love the atmosphere and the emotion behind it. Had to smile at the [redacted] bit too. I’ll have to check out this series. Glad you’re feeling a bit better. Sending good vibes your way. *hugs*
Great atmosphere. And some lovely memories invoked by the photos. Or maybe not? Shame you stopped where you did. 😉
Lovely. I like how the pictures slowly revealed the memories.
