Things I’m Thankful For

  1. Decent health for both me and Kiddo.
  2. My new Evil[-ish] Day Job
  3. Editors and publishers who don’t hate my stories and my writing.
  4. My warm cat.
  5. I can afford decent food.

This year, I donated the money I would’ve used to buy a traditional holiday dinner to the Oregon Food Bank. Instead of turkey and all the trimmings (and all the work and all the clean up…) we’re only having our very favorite parts of the feast. Kiddo chose special French toast for breakfast, and pie; I chose whipped potatoes and gravy. With a side of Stove Top stuffing.

Yes, I said Stove Top. From a box. My gravy comes out of a jar.

I’m donating the time I would’ve spent cooking to my Kiddo.

And to the 49ers, but I’m sure Kiddo will appreciate it more. 🙂

Whatever you celebrate and however you do it, I hope you have a blast this weekend.

  1. Your Thanksgiving sounds wonderful, Charley–hope you enjoy it. I love Stovetop stuffing. I don’t like gravy, but my husband did and it came from a jar or a can. So nice of you to donate to the food bank. There are so many people who don’t have enough to eat–what a great cause!
